United Bristol is here to help. 

Delivered by Empire Fighting Chance, Bristol Bears Foundation and Bristol City Robins Foundation, United Bristol helps young people build confidence, gain new skills and move into employment, education or training. 

WHAT IS BRISTOL UNITED?

United Bristol is a free employability programme for young people living in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. 

Using the power of boxing, football and rugby, we'll help you develop the confidence, skills and experience you need to take your next step. 

Everyone's journey is different. 

We'll help you find yours. 

WHAT YOU'll GET?

Every participant receives personalised support based on their goals. 

You could access: 

  • One-to-one mentoring 

  • Boxing, football or rugby sessions 

  • Confidence-building activities 

  • Help writing your CV 

  • Interview preparation 

  • Job search support 

WHY SPORT?

At Empire Fighting Chance, we've seen first-hand how sport can change lives. 

Before someone believes they can succeed at work, they often need to believe in themselves. 

Sport creates opportunities to build confidence, resilience and trust. 

Combined with mentoring and practical employability support, it helps young people develop the skills employers are looking for.

WHO CAN JOIN?

United Bristol is for young people who: 

  • Are aged 18–21 

  • Live in Bristol, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire 

  • Are not currently in education, employment or training

  • Want support finding work or planning their next step

Frequently asked questions 

Is United Bristol free? 

Yes. There is no cost to join. 

Do I need any sporting experience? 

No. 

You don't need to have boxed, played rugby or football before. 

The programme is designed for everyone. 

Will you help me find a job? 

Yes. 

We'll support you with CVs, applications, interviews, work experience and introductions to employers where appropriate. 

We'll also help you explore apprenticeships, education and training. 

I'm nervous. Is that okay? 

Absolutely. 

Lots of young people feel anxious about taking the first step. 

Our coaches create welcoming environments where you can progress at your own pace.
